Update: we’ve got specific charging speed numbers of the LG G4 against its peers.

When LG unveiled its new flagship smartphone it didn’t mention whether or not it supported Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 2.0 feature, which basically lets Snapdragon powered smartphones charge up very rapidly in a short amount of time. Naturally many expected the Snapdragon 808 touting LG G4 to have this feature but the company made no mention of it. However it has now been confirmed that the LG G4 indeed supports Quick Charge 2.0.

The LG G4 is now listing on the pages which shows the devices that are compatible with the Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 feature. Moreover the folks at Android Central claim to have heard from LG itself that the G4 certainly supports Quick Charge 2.0.

Some of the other devices that do support this feature include Nexus 6, Moto X, as well as the HTC one M8 and M9. It makes perfect sense for LG’s latest flagship to have this feature as well.

However there is still a considerable time left before Quick Charging can be of any use to you. LG may have unveiled the device a couple of weeks back but it doesn’t expect to ship units until by the end of this month.

When the handset finally arrives for customers interested in buying one, they’ll at least have the peace of mind that their new handset is capable of charging up very fast even if it’s hooked up to the power for a short amount of time.
