Earlier this year at the International Consumer Electronics Show 2015 Lenovo unveiled a new laptop that’s aimed at people who put portability above all. The Lenovo LaVie Z notebook is not short on power but it’s certainly lighter than quite a few 13-inch laptops currently available in the market. Lenovo has now confirmed the prices for the LaVie Z and has finally started selling this notebook in the United States.

Inside its 16.9mm thin body is an Intel Core i7 processor with 8GB RAM, 256GB of flash storage, two USB 3.0 ports, HDMI port and an SD card slot.

It also has a 13.3-inch 2,560×1,440 pixel resolution Quad HD display and the whole thing weighs just 1.87 pounds, making is surprisingly lighter than Apple’s new MacBook which weighs in at 2.03-pounds.

Customers can pick and choose from different configurations to get the machine that they want, the Lenovo LaVie Z starts at $1,499. A Z 360 model is also available and it starts at $1,699.

This particular model adds a touchscreen to the notebook as well as the flippable hinge that’s found on Lenovo’s other notebooks from the Yoga series.

Lenovo estimates that the standard model should provide up to six hours of battery life whereas the convertible may push it up to nine hours.
