The iPhone 5c, while created with the best intentions, was not Apple’s best-selling product. In fact many are wondering if a repeat of the “C” phone this year is truly needed but that’s a debate for another time. In the meantime it seems that over in the UK, the police have attributed the phone to saving a man’s life.
As you can see in the image above, the shows the iPhone 5c peppered with what appears to be shotgun pellets. Apparently the man in question was shot up close by a shotgun. While he did suffer serious abdominal injuries, the police claim that the phone took the brunt of the shot, which is why his wounds were not fatal.
According to Detective Inspector Gary McIntyre from Cheshire Police said: “Fortunately, the victim’s mobile phone took the brunt of the shot and, as a result of this, he survived. This is remarkable – had that phone not been in his pocket at that time he would undoubtedly have died.”
The shooting took place when the victim approached a group of teenagers who had apparently shut off the water supply to the apartment block in which he lived. There was an altercation and a 19-year old by the name of Ryan Duggan was the one who pulled the trigger. Duggan has been found guilty on attempted murder and is awaiting sentencing in July.
