A report has been published that mentions of how Apple intends to optimize the next build of its mobile OS for iPhones and iPads that are now part of the AARP group. Rather than coming up with a single version of iOS 9 that will see the butchering of selected features where older hardware is concerned, it is believed that Apple could introduce a “core version” of iOS 9 which would specifically target devices that run on the A5 chipset.
Features which play nice with the core version of iOS 9 will then be implemented on older models on at a time, which bodes well for those who have decided to skip several upgrade cycles. As iOS 9 ought to be previewed by Apple next month at WWDC, we are starting to get impatient for the September release.
