The idea behind the Ecocapsule is that it is self-sustaining. This is thanks to the fact that the pod powers itself by solar and wind energy, meaning that you could live pretty much anywhere in the world and still have access to energy sources courtesy of mother nature. The architects have imagined it will feature a 750W wind turbine and a 2.6 square-meter array of solar cells.
Both of these systems will help to charge a 9,744Wh battery that ensures that even if sunlight is low or if there is not enough wind, the capsule will remain powered at least for sometime. It also comes with a rainwater collection system that helps filter it to make the water clean and drinkable.
The Ecocapsule itself will measure 4.5 meters in length, 2.4 meters in width, and 2.5 meters in height. As you can see from the photos, it looks pretty stylish and almost luxurious thanks to its clean and minimalist design. While it is currently a concept, Nice Architects are planning on unveiling a prototype unit at the Pioneers festival in Vienna come 28th of May, with the actual capsule going up for sale later this year.
