Nothing bugs us more than unknown numbers, and that’s why most of us use third-party caller ID apps, and TrueCaller has been a pioneer in the very segment of apps. In an announcement today, Cyanogen Inc and Truecaller have formed a partnership, the two companies have teamed up to bring the built-in caller ID functionality to Cyanogen powered smartphones. The partnership has made way for a new dialer app for Cyanogen OS users.
The new found partnership will be integrated within Cyanogen’s operating system and the users will not be required to download a standalone caller ID app anymore. The function will come handy for most users as they will not be required to explore the app in order to get relevant, instead they will got all the caller information at their disposal within Cyanogen’s built-in dialer.
Cyanogen has also stated that the new functionality in partnership with Truecaller will be available on all the future devices that will ship with Cyanogen operating system worldwide. Not just that, the same functionality will also reach the millions of existing users through an over-the-air (OTA) update.
However, Cyanogen has not revealed any exact timeline for the new function to reach the existing users. but we assume that it won’t take long as the company has already promised the function to be all set for the forthcoming Cyanogen devices. Interestingly, Google’s has been building the same functionality in its dialer for Nexus 5, and recently Facebook has also launched its standalone dialer app to serve the similar interest.
