Sounds interesting, doesn’t it? Unfortunately it seems that it might not necessarily be true. This is according to a popular Chinese mobile industry analyst who claims that the rumors are “rubbish”, going as far as calling it an elaborate piece of vaporware. This analyst has apparently been spot on regarding Qualcomm’s plans in the past, so his claim does seem to carry a bit of weight.
That being said it does not seem like much of a stretch. After all MediaTek is working on their own 10-core processor in the form of the Helio X20, so why wouldn’t Qualcomm want to respond in kind with their own 10-core processor? However like we mentioned in our previous report, there aren’t many apps that require so much power.
Even if there were, chances are these apps would probably cater to a niche audience meaning that for the rest of us, we might never even see or realize its full potential, so while it does look good on paper, in reality it might not matter so much.
