Galaxy Tab S 10.5 is among the few Samsung tablets available on AT&T. Since it’s being sold through a carrier there are the usual limitations when it comes to software updates. Carriers tend to take their time before they roll out an update that’s already been released directly by the company. Same goes for the Galaxy Tab S 10.5, which has finally received the Android 5.0 Lollipop update today from AT&T.
The country’s second largest carrier has certainly taken its time to roll out this update for the tablet. Samsung released the Lollipop update for the Wi-Fi only model of the Galaxy Tab S 10.5 back in March.
The wait is finally over for folks who own this tablet on AT&T. Android 5.0.2 is rolling out now over-the-air, build T807AUCU1BOD4, coming in at 1147MB.
All features and improvements included in Lollipop will be present on the tablet once it’s updated, this includes the Material Design user interface, enhanced notifications, performance improvements and much more.
The update also adds additional animations to the update as well as the Device Protection feature which makes it obligatory for Google account credentials to be entered if a device is lost or stolen. It will remain locked even if it goes through a factory data reset.
