Assassin’s Creed: Unity, released last year, was set in Paris and following that flirtation with the City of Lights, the next title is going to cross the channel and set up shop in London. Ubisoft today formally announced Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate, the new title is going to be set in the Industrial Revolution-era London in 1868. Some of the reports that we had received prior to Ubisoft’s official confirmation have turned out to be true.
Just yesterday we reported that Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate will let you play as a woman and Ubisoft confirms that the title features two protagonists, Jacob and Evie Frye, brother and sister.
Instead of being developed at Ubisoft Montreal where AC titles are usually developed, Ubisoft’s Quebec City studio is behind AC: Syndicate. The studio says that this will be the fastest title in the franchise.
Players will be able to enlist street gangs for help during their quests and will find that the new title focuses more on brass knuckles and hidden weapons. The criminal underworld of London is a major driving force in this game.
Like its predecessor, Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate will only be available on PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One, as well as the PC. Ubisoft has said that AC: Syndicate will be released on October 23rd, 2015.
