Apple Finally Address Yosemite Wifi Problem In Latest Beta

If you’re using an Apple computer running on OS X Yosemite and you have not had any issue with WiFi, consider yourself lucky. There have been many complaints about WiFi connectivity issues in OS X Yosemite ever since it was released last year. In fact Apple has attempted to fix the problem through updates.

However it is clear that even until today despite the fixes, the problems persist and oddly enough even with the issue of the problem being public knowledge, Apple has yet to swiftly work on it. Thankfully it looks like the issue has finally been resolved in the beta of OS X 10.10.4 that was recently released to developers.

Basically what Apple did in the fix was to drop the discoveryd program that handles wireless connections on a Mac. In its place, Apple has replaced it with an older system called mDNSResponder which appears to have solved the problem. If you’re a Mac dev or a beta user, you can see these changes reflected in the latest beta.

We’re not sure why Apple took so long despite the fact that the fix was discovered a while ago, but either way better late than never, right? For those of you guys who are still running the current build of OS X Yosemite, we guess you will have choice but to wait until Apple officially releases the update, whose release at the moment is still unclear.
