Shipping timeline for the new 42 mm Apple Watch and Apple Watch Sport has been shifted to July. The company was supposed to start shipping the pre-orders from April 10, but it has not achieved the fast delivery until now. While many customers have got their Apple Watch before the expected delivery date, it seems that many have to wait for it longer.
Apple has not revealed any particular reason behind the delay, however a recent report points out that the reason could be inability of single Taptic Engine supplier to produce ample usable parts. The shortage of material had led to slower manufacturing of the device, which in turn caused delay in the shipping.
Also, the company has allegedly directed some Watch suppliers to lag production until June. Interestingly, June is also the month when the Watch might even reach the Apple Stores for direct purchase.
The all Edition and 38-millimeter Watches are still set on shipping in June, regardless of country. In some countries such as UK and germany, the 38mm variant can be shipped within 2 to 3 weeks.
The reason behind the variation in orders between 38 mm and 42mm variants could be that 42mm variant has garnered more user attention due to its popular size. Moreover, many critics have slammed the 38mm variant with negative review for being too small.
