This is in line with the way Apple has been naming their products as of late, like the Apple Watch and Apple Pay. In terms of features, Apple Music is said to offer artists more control over what they can share with their fans. Instead of just offering, Apple’s platform will allow artists to share other aspects of their career, like sample tracks, photos, videos, and even provide concert updates.
Artists will also be able to share content of other artists to help aid cross promotion or to help plug an upcoming collaboration. It could also help with music discovery as we’re sure that fans would like to know who their favorite band/musician is listening to. Subscribers to the service will also apparently be able to comment on these posts using their iTunes accounts.
Naturally Apple hasn’t confirmed any of these rumors but given 9to5Mac’s track record, there is a good chance they are right on the money. Apple Music is rumored to be launched towards the end of June where there will be a free trial option.
