Android 5.0.2 For Galaxy S5 Enters Testing

It was reported last month that Samsung was working on quite a few “micro-updates” which it would release for numerous devices that have already been updated to Lollipop in order to fix some bugs and issues that users faced after updating to version 5.0. It came to our attention today that Android 5.0.2 for Galaxy S5 has now entered testing, Samsung appears to have teamed up with Optus in Australia for this test.

Many of you will be well aware by now that the Galaxy S5 has already been updated to Lollipop, so users aren’t exactly waiting for a major software update that will bring them a taste of Lollipop.

However, the initial update did have some bugs and issues that needed to be addressed. It was revealed that these bugs would be taken care of through micro-updates, and the test of Android 5.0.2 for Galaxy S5 shows that Samsung is working on that.

As mentioned on the website of Australian carrier Optus, Android 5.0.2 for Galaxy S5 is now being tested and it should be released early next month. It’s going to be a minor update which brings bug fixes and performance improvements.

If the initial test goes well in Australia, it’s likely that Samsung will expand it to other countries and team up with other carriers around the world for this purpose.

Those Samsung smartphones that received Android 5.0.2 as their first Lollipop update don’t have to wait for these micro-updates.
