Amazon has been working on the development of its one-hour delivery service and in its first move, the company has roped in local stores for the service, and the first city to get the service is, Manhattan. Amazon calls it “Prime Now one-hour delivery”, which now includes the local stores, along with a wide range of products that are already listed on the website.
The service in its initial phase, is only covering few neighborhoods in Manhattan, with plans to expand gradually throughout the area. Some of the local stores that are a part of this service are, Gourmet Garage, Billy’s Bakery and D’Agostino, they offers pre-cooked meals, groceries, and fresh baked items.
The pre-requisite for using the new service is that you got to install the Prime Now application on your device (available for iOS and Android). There are no extra-charges for two-hour delivery, however, one-hour delivery comes with extra charges of $7.99.
In this latest development, Amazon seems to be bringing local stores to its platter along with the existent online stores for the Prime Now delivery. For all those who live outside the New York City, Amazon will soon come up with local store delivery to the locations that support Prime Now, such as Austin, Atlanta, Brooklyn, Baltimore, Dallas and Miami.
