Now thanks to the folks at Tizen Experts, they claim to have gotten their hands on what appears to be the successor to the Samsung Z1, the Samsung Z2. The handset is rumored for a launch in the first half of 2015 and assuming that is true, it certainly makes sense that photos of the handset would be surfacing by now, although how real they are is anyone’s guess.
That being said if you were hoping that the Samsung Z2 would be a significant upgrade over the Samsung Z1, think again. Previously leaked specs points towards a display with a resolution of 540×960. It is also said to be powered by a 32-bit quad-core processor (it is unclear if Samsung will be making the chipsets themselves), 1GB of RAM, and a 2,000mAh battery.
It’s nothing particularly impressive but it is targeted at the Russian and Chinese market and would most likely be sold as a budget handset for customers who want an affordable smartphone that might not necessarily have to run on Android.
