A new car model would more often than not see the manufacturer tout a fair number of new features, and this also translates to advertising said features in an appropriate manner. Hence, you know that things are moving rather slowly when Hyundai advertises the Hands-free Smart Trunk with Automatic Opening feature in the first paragraph of a press release for its 2016 model of the Hyundai Equus.
Yup, you read that right – the Hyundai Equus luxury sedan for the model year 2016 would come with a Hands-free Smart Trunk with Automatic Opening feature for the Ultimate trim level, in other words, you can open up the trunk without even touching the trunk, as though by magic. Perfect if both hands are fully occupied as you carry groceries from the cart and do not want to fumble for your keys. All that you need to do is to stand for a few seconds (while remaining within a few feet of the Equus trunk), and make sure that the Equus key is somewhere in your pocket or purse.
Hyundai claims that this method is easier as opposed to kicking close to a sensor below the trunk, as that might translate to you losing some of your balance. Other features include remote start, destination search that is powered by Google, remote door lock/unlock and stolen vehicle recovery.
