Sony has still not officially announced the Xperia Z4 flagship smartphone so we have to resort to rumors to get a sense of what the device might be capable of. Word on the street is that the Xperia Z4 is going to have an all metal body as well as a fingerprint sensor embedded in the power key. A fingerprint sensor won’t be a groundbreaking feature since almost all high-end devices have one these days.
According to the rumor Sony is going to place the fingerprint sensor in the device’s power button. This would be unique to the device since other OEMs are embedding fingerprint sensors underneath the home button of their devices.
This placement would also mean that it won’t be that much of a stretch for users when they want to use the fingerprint sensor to authorize a payment or control access to the device.
They wouldn’t have to stretch a finger all the way down the display to reach the sensor, instead it will be easily accessible from the side.
Nevertheless, since this information does not come from an unofficial source, we have to take it with a grain of salt. So far Sony has not confirmed what it’s upcoming flagship does and does not have, so we’ll have to wait for the company’s event later this month to find out for sure.
