Microsoft is still seeding preview builds of Windows 10 so it goes without saying that the new software is not exactly finished. The company is expected to release Windows 10 later this year but until then it will continue with the preview program so that people can test out the new software as Microsoft puts the finishing touches. It appears that internal builds of Windows 10 might include a blurry glass effect on the Start Menu.
If the effect feels familiar that’s because you’ve probably seen it before. It’s quite identical to the Aero Glass effect that made an appearance in Windows Vista and Windows 7, but was left out in Windows 8.
From the looks of it the blurry glass effect will make a return in Windows 10, even if it’s limited to the Start Menu only. The leaked images don’t show this effect on app windows. The effect is only applied to the Start Menu and it disappears when the menu morphs into the fullscreen Start Screen.
Microsoft’s 2015 BUILD conference is just one day away and it’s clear that the company has more to unveil regarding Windows 10. It’s possible that Microsoft may talk about UI changes that are on the cards for Windows 10, as well as any other tweaks that Windows fans should expect from the new software.
Windows 10 is expected to be released at some point during summer 2015.
