We’re sure many of us have been woken up by the alarm of their partner despite the fact that we don’t need to get up as early as they do. It can be annoying but for the most part, we probably just ending up going back to sleep anyway. However thanks to a new Kickstarter project, its creators are looking to design an alarm clock that will only target the person who needs waking up.
Dubbed the Wakē, this alarm clock basically mounts on the wall behind your bed and is placed above the sleepers. From there the user can set the alarm via its accompanying smartphone to determine what time they need to be woken up, and who in particular needs to be woken up. When it’s about time for the alarm to go off, Wakē will rotate and aim itself at the person who its supposed to wake up.
It will beam light onto that person which apparently helps make the waking up process more naturally, thus making you feel more alert, before directing the alarm’s sound at the sleeper using parametric speakers which helps to focus sound, creating a narrow audible beam that will not disturb the other person in bed with you.
It’s definitely an interesting concept and at this time of writing, they have managed to raise almost 50% of their $100,000 goal. If you’d like to pledge your support where $250 will nab you a Wakē alarm clock upon successful completion, head on over to its Kickstarter page for the details.
