Galaxy S4 owners on Verizon who have been waiting to get a taste of Lollipop should look out for an update notification today. Verizon has finally released the much awaited Lollipop update for Galaxy S4 owners on its network. The update is being rolled in stages over-the-air so don’t expect it go live across the country at once, these things take time.

Since yesterday the Lollipop update has been released for a few Samsung devices, so it’s certainly good to see that Galaxy S4 owners on Verizon are being taken care of as well.

As is the case with most major software updates the first preference is always the most recent models, only then do carriers and OEMs shift their attention towards older models.

Given that the Galaxy S4 is nearly two years old it won’t surprise anyone to see that Verizon has taken its sweet time in releasing said update for this device, but what matters now is that it’s finally here.

Today the Verizon Galaxy S4 Lollipop update build LRX22C.I545VRUGOC1 has been released and it brings several new features, the Material Design user interface as well as many tweaks and improvements for the device.

Remember that since this is a major update it’s going to weigh in around 1GB, you will need to connect to a Wi-Fi network first before you can download the update.
