SwiftKey & Dashlane Partner Up For Automatic Password Input

When it comes to third-party keyboard apps out there, SwiftKey is probably one of the more well-known ones at the moment, and it looks like the company could be partnering up with Dashlane where it would gain an important new feature, which is to automatically input passwords on your mobile device.

Right now trying to insert passwords into apps or websites can be a pain as the onscreen keys can sometimes lead to error. While there are password managers, their integration is not as sleek as we would like, but by integrating passwords into the keyboard itself, it would certainly make the process a lot smoother which is where Dashlane comes in.

The folks at Android Police have managed to get their hands on several screenshots, which you can see above, which shows how the feature will work. Now for those who are worried about SwiftKey gaining access to your credentials, you can rest easy as the keyboard will only act as the delivery aspect. Instead Dashlane, which is a password manager, will still be the one holding onto your passwords.

This feature is expected to be introduced later this week in the SwiftKey 5.3 beta, so if you’re interested in checking it out, you will need to have the beta downloaded when it goes live, along with Dashlane where it will work with both the free and premium tiers.
