The much awaited sequel to Street Fighter 4 might surprise people if the series producer is to be believed. There is already a lot of anticipation about Street Fighter 5 and while it won’t be launching anytime soon fans of the series do want to know what the sequel will bring to the table. Yoshinori Ono, the series producer, says that Street Fighter 5 is going to turn out as something “nobody is expecting.”
In an interview Ono pointed out that they have a great opportunity with Street Fighter 5 to create something that has a larger scope, a game that can encompass all that Street Fighter has become in the past few years, “but which also expands on that to become something it has never been before as well.”
Ono says they want to create something that nobody is expecting. Obviously it’s going to be a title that will cater to fans but one which will also bring in completely new players and introduce them to the world of Street Fighter.
“Street Fighter 4 was about reviving a passion. Street Fighter 5 is about growing that passion,” he says, without revealing specific details about the next title.
Street Fighter 5 is expected to be released in the first quarter of next year, it will be available on both the PlayStation 4 and PC.
