Basically when you decide to upgrade your phone on the carrier’s network, you have the option of using the carrier’s Direct 2 You service. This service will allow you, the customer, to choose a time and location in which a Sprint expert will meet you. After which that expert will then help set up your new phone such as transferring contacts and data from the old handset to the new, and then personalize it to your specifications.
This might come in handy for those who aren’t too tech savvy and aren’t sure how to configure the phone to their liking. However it seems not everyone will be qualified to participate in the new program. Those who are will receive a text message or an email in which they will be asked if they’re interested in upgrading their handset.
At the moment the program is live in Kansas City and is expected to be launched in Chicago and Miami later this month. The carrier is also looking to expand to an additional 10 cities by the end of August and an additional 30 cities by the end of September, and they expect that they should reach a nationwide rollout by the end of the year.
