Expect to see a brand new user interface grace Skype for Business in order to make it look as well as feel a whole lot more like the consumer version of the video-calling software, and this is one instance where familiarity should not breed contempt.
Skype for Business, a Lync client replacement is all set to roll out “as an update to Lync on April 14th as part of Office monthly updates,” at least according to a Microsoft blog post, and IT administrators will have control on how and when the Skype for Business update will be introduced to users. Those who are existing users of Lync Online with Office 365 ProPlus, Office 365 Business Premium or Office 2013, will be able to check out the new Skype for Business client.
Microsoft also mentioned that they will update the Lync Online Service to “Skype for Business Online” automatically by the time the end of May rolls around. Better late than never, right? [Press Release]
