Samsung Kies has till now enjoyed the status of being the only software for the company for transferring the data from an old Samsung device to a new one. But with changing times and new line-up of smartphones such as the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 edge, Kies will no longer be useful in data transfer. It has been replaced by a new software named Samsung Smart Switch.
The new software is available in two versions: for Mobile and for PC. With Samsung Smart Switch, the data transfer between two Galaxy smartphones turns out to be really smooth, such as, in case you are using the mobile app the software only involves few clicks and transfers all of the former phone’s data to the new phone. Users can easily download the app from Google Play Store and Galaxy Apps.
Samsung Smart Switch for PC can be downloaded for both Windows and Mac. The software can be used to transfer data from an old device to the PC via USB cable. The Smart Switch features a new feature of backup and restoration, which enable users to backup the existing data to the PC all at once, and the same data can also be restored back on the device with a single click.
In order to update it manually, the user will be required to update the firmware on the Galaxy S6 or S6 edge. In the end, Smart Switch is a revamped version of Kies, which lets users transfer files in a much better and easier way.
