This is according to a report from Korean news publication Yonhap News (via PhoneArena) who claims that the sales of both handsets are a lot higher than Samsung had estimated. They also reportedly quote an industry official who claimed that sales of both handsets have reached an all time high in the past 3 days compared to the previous Galaxy S models. A Samsung official was also said to have admitted that they had “failed to make a precise prediction of demand” for the Galaxy S6 Edge.
Whether or not that is true, this lines up with what we have heard in a previous report where it was suggested that the Galaxy S6 Edge could see its supply constrained. However the previous report said that this was due to low production yields of its curved display and not so much the demand for it, so do take this report with a grain of salt for now. Previously it has been estimated that Samsung could sell as many 50 million units of both the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge by the end of the year.
