The Samsung Galaxy Note Edge that was released last year was meant to be an experiment of sorts to see whether or not such a design would appeal to customers. Apparently the figures were impressive enough to warrant Samsung releasing the Galaxy S6 Edge this year, and we’re sure some of you guys are wondering just how popular it is?
While the official figures have yet to come in, Korean news outlet Yonhap claims that the Galaxy S6 Edge actually accounts for a whopping half of Samsung’s new sales for its new handsets the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge. This is actually pretty impressive especially when you consider how popular Samsung’s Galaxy S units are.
In fact this was somewhat supported by a previous report which revealed that Samsung’s Galaxy S6 sold twice the amount at T-Mobile compared to its predecessor. In fact just yesterday it was reported that Samsung had apparently failed to anticipate how popular its new handsets would be which might explain why there could be some supply constraints for the Galaxy S6 Edge.
In any case what do you guys make of this? Are you all that surprised that the Galaxy S6 Edge actually accounted for half of Samsung’s new phone sales? Or did you already anticipate that?
