This is according to a report from PhoneArena who has heard that the Galaxy Note 5 could feature such a display when it is launched later in the year. Now before you shrug this rumor off as being absurd, there is some evidence that such displays do exist. Earlier this year Samsung confirmed in their Analyst Days presentation that they had UHD displays in the works for 2015.
The company obviously did not state which handset or tablet the display could find its way in, but given that the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy Note 5 are two of the more notable Samsung releases this year, it wouldn’t be surprising if that display were to make it into the Galaxy Note 5, especially since the Galaxy S6 has been launched with a QHD display.
The question is do we really need such high resolution displays? No doubt it would be really sharp but can our eyes tell? Not to mention we’d hate to think how much battery such a display would require. In any case take it with a grain of salt for now, but what do you guys think? Would you like to see a UHD Galaxy Note 5 this year?
