So, you happen to own one of those fancy pants, PS Vita, a portable console that has certainly gained its fair share of fans ever since it was released some years back. While the dedicated handheld gaming console looks as though it is some sort of dying breed these days, this does not mean that the hardware will continue to remain obsolete. No sir, the PS Vita is all set to obtain its latest firmware update that will see the firmware number get bumped up to version 3.50 if you were to apply it.
Running this particular firmware update will also see a portion of your PS Vita’s memory get unlocked – so much so that developers will end up with 30% more memory to “play around with”, so to speak. In other words, there will be less system resources that are being saved for overhead, and taking into consideration how PS Vita titles can then make use of a larger pool of memory to work with, which is a good thing.
As the consumer, things would look pretty much the same – at least until games being to be developed in order to take full advantage of the additional 30% of RAM. What do you think of this development?
