Rocking an Apple Watch to your next meeting? You can put it to actual use aside from making people who haven’t been able to get their orders in jealous. Microsoft has updated the PowerPoint app for iOS and it now has support for Apple’s first smartwatch. This will allow you to control PowerPoint presentations using that shiny new smartwatch on your wrist.
Apple Watch pre-orders were opened on April 10th and many believe that the company has managed to sell millions of units already. Those who had placed pre-orders are now seeing their cards being charged as Apple readies the units for shipment. The Apple Watch will be released on April 24th.
The Apple Watch essentially acts as a remote for PowerPoint on iOS. It can be used to start presentations, track progress, move on to the next slide and other actions.
The updated app itself is free for download but you will need an Office 365 subscription in order to be able to access all of the app’s features.
Support for the Apple Watch has also been added to OneDrive for iOS. It will let users view and delete recent photos, view photo albums and find photos by tag, but you’ll probably be better off doing all this on your iPhone instead, since the Apple Watch’s display size isn’t ideal for this kind of work.
