If our previous timeline was correct, the OnePlus Two is expected to be launched by September later this year. This was initially promised by the company’s CEO who said that the handset would be launched in 6 months and at that time of announcement, it was made in March. However it seems that there is a chance the handset could have been delayed.
According to the latest reports, it seems that the OnePlus Two might not make its September launch after all. Instead it is expected to be released later, although we can’t be sure if it will still make its 2015 launch or if it could roll over to 2016, but here’s hoping that it won’t. Apparently the delay has nothing to do with manufacturing issues, but rather because the company believes the OnePlus One still popular enough where it can last another six months.
Assuming that this is true, it also hints at the possibility that OnePlus might turn to a different chipset. As it stands, it has been rumored that the OnePlus Two could be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810, but if it has been delayed, it is possible that the handset might end up using the Snapdragon 810’s successor, or maybe a chipset from a competing brand like MediaTek.
Take it with a grain of salt for now, but hopefully we will hear the official word from OnePlus soon. In the meantime anyone else possibly disappointed that we might not see the OnePlus Two anytime soon?
