OnePlus wants to significantly increase its handset sales this year and it expects to do that with its next flagship device. The OnePlus Two is expected to be released later this year and already we’re hearing rumors about the device. A new report claims to offer some information about OnePlus Two features, the device is likely to have a premium build and a fingerprint sensor, things that have become staple in most high-end devices today.
Last month OnePlus CEO Carl Pei confirmed that the company’s next flagship device will arrive in six months, so we should expect it to land around the fall. OnePlus Two is rumored to have high-end specifications like the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor with 4GB RAM and an impressive display.
A report from Business Insider cites “people familiar with the matter” and reveals that the handset is also going to have a fingerprint sensor that’s “better than Touch ID,” the sensor that’s found on the iPhone. The report doesn’t mention just how the sensor on OnePlus Two is going to be better than its counterpart on the iPhone.
It also says that the device will have a metal frame for a more premium build, and that additional hardware “surprises” are currently in the pipeline. These changes could mean that the OnePlus Two will cost more than its predecessor.
Despite that, it’s likely that the OnePlus Two will still be priced less than most flagships, and that’s one of the ways OnePlus expects to bring in customers.
