It was in October last year that we brought you word about the announcement of the Olympus Stylus 1s over in the Land of the Rising Sun. Well, it was reported then that the Olympus Stylus 1s would go up for sale the month after that, and what of those of us living in the West? I guess all of the waiting is about to come to an end, as the Olympus Stylus 1s, which comes with not too many updates over its predecessor, the Olympus Stylus 1, is all set to hit Europe later this summer for €549 a pop.
As mentioned earlier, most of the hardware specifications will more or less remain true to the Stylus 1, and this means one can continue to make use of the 12MP CMOS sensor, a 28-300mm f/2.8 lens, 7fps continuous shooting mode, and an ISO range of 100-12800, alongside a 3” 1.04 million dot touchscreen display.
Well, we do know that there will be a spanking new step-zoom function, not to mention smaller auto focus target, focus peaking, and interval shooting functionality. Not only that, do expect the Stylus 1 to come with a BLS-50 battery that is supposedly able to let you shoot 450 images thereabouts before it gives up the ghost. Any takers?
