This was confirmed by Nintendo during their Nintendo Direct conference in which the company reiterated their commitment to bringing more Nintendo DS and N64 games to the Wii U’s virtual console. Basically what this means is that gamers will have more games to choose from, some of which are classics that you might have missed playing over the years.
As far as controllers are concerned, the DS titles will be played using the Wii U’s GamePad. Users will be able to select from a variety of different customization options to suit their needs and to fit their gameplay style. As for the N64, there will be Rumble Pak support included so that your controller will vibrate like it did in the good old days.
In terms of pricing, N64 titles are expected to be priced anywhere between $9.99 to $11.99, while DS games will cost gamers $6.99 to $9.99. However if you owned the title back in the original Wii’s Virtual Console, you can rebuy N64 titles for your Wii U for just $2. Super Mario 64 and Yoshi’s Island DS are two titles that are part of the launch in North America with Donkey Kong 64 expected to be launched soon.
