So, it’s been almost a month after Google announced the Android 5.1 update and it is still under process to reach bunch of Nexus devices. Unexpectedly, the LTE Nexus 2013 is the one that is being upgraded to the 5.1 now. Sadly, the update for the Wi-Fi version is not available as of now.
Nexus 7 will be getting the update to build LMY47O, just as the Nexus 4. The update size will be under 200MB, and the update will bring in changes such as, quick settings and better performance. It will come with important fixes for bugs and memory drains and improves the heads-up notifications bar.
Generally, the LTE variants are bit behind Wi-Fi variants in receiving updates, but for some unknown reasons, in this case, LTE has taken the leap for the first time. Google has initiated the OTA roll out, but it might not pop up in your update menu as yet. Thankfully, ZIP file comes to the rescue in such cases, by downloading the file from here.
Google rolled out the Android 5.1 Lollipop update in March 2015 and it introduced host of latest features, fixes and enhancements in the update. Initially, the update was rolled out to few Nexus devices including the Nexus 5, Nexus 6, Nexus 10, and Nexus 7 (2012).
