How will they do this? Assuming the rumor is to be believed, Apple will be employing the same material as the Apple Watch which is a type of aluminum alloy that supposedly ensures that the device will not be as prone to bending. We won’t say completely resistant since where there is a way, there will always be a way, but hopefully it will be strong enough for day-to-day use.
That being said, the material used is a completely different look from that of the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, and typically Apple does not introduce new product designs with its “S” range of smartphones, so it seems unlikely that Apple will be introducing a new design so soon. That and the fact that perhaps bendgate might have been a little blown out of proportion, especially in recent tests which found that the iPhone 6 is just as strong as some of its Android counterparts, and that it would take a considerable amount of force to bend.
In any case the rumor is best taken with a grain of salt for now, but do check back with us later as we expect that more iPhone-related leaks will start making their way online as the launch of the next-gen iPhone approaches, which based on Apple’s schedule should be in the later part of the year.
