Netflix announced today that it has added a new feature to its online video streaming service that’s meant for the visually impaired. It already providers users with a number of accessibility options and now its expanding those with the addition of audio description on select titles.

Marvel’s Daredevil is one of the first titles on Netflix to support audio description. The Daredevil series is an original Netflix production and the entire first season is already available for streaming.

Audio description is a narration track which describes what’s happening on the screen, this includes physical actions, costumes, facial expressions, settings as well as scene changes. Choosing audio narration is as simply as choosing the soundtrack in a different language.

Netflix has said that it will add more titles in the coming weeks, including all previous and the current season of House of Cards, another one of its original productions. Audio narration will also be available for Orange is the New Black, the Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt and Marco Polo. All of them are Netflix productions.

In the coming months Netflix expects to have audio description available for all of its original series as well as other select movies and TV shows. It’s working with studios and content owners to increase amount of audio description across various devices such as smartphones and smart TVs.
