After weeks and weeks of leaks LG finally unveiled its new flagship smartphone. Even before the announcement it had already become clear that the LG G4 would come with a leather back. The company merely reiterated that at its event today. Motorola didn’t have anything planned for today, but it did take to Twitter to let you know that it actually brought leather to smartphones last year, so it’s not like LG has done something unique with the G4.
Soon after LG’s announcement of the G4, Motorola tweeted an image reminding us that the Moto X and Moto 360 can both be configured with genuine leather.
LG will be charging extra for the genuine leather back on its flagship device but it hasn’t revealed just how much it will cost. Motorola also charges extra, the leather back can be had on the Moto X for an extra $25.
The leather back on the G4 is a bit different from what you get on the Moto X though since it has stitches in the middle that set it apart, it provides a different look and feel as opposed to the Moto X.
LG wasn’t going to take this quietly though. It sent out a cheeky reply to Motorola’s tweet.
