Selfie sticks are pretty straightforward devices – attach your phone at the end, take a selfie, and you’re done. However there are more elaborate sticks with Bluetooth controls that let you take photos remotely instead of having to rely on a timer, but it looks like that isn’t enough for Motorola as they have recently debuted the Moto Selfie Stick.
The concept is simple and is pretty much the same as any other selfie stick, however in the case of Motorola, they have decided to take advantage of Moto Maker by introducing a selfie stick that users can customize by choosing the materials that are used with the stick. Of course in case it wasn’t obvious already, this is an April Fool’s joke by Motorola.
The ad, which you can see in the video above, is pretty elaborate and is well produced, making it seem like Motorola is truly selling a premium product. It goes into detail by showing how these “artisans” craft the selfie stick so lovingly, and to quote one of them, a selfie is only as good as its stick. That being said the sticks do look pretty cool and we wouldn’t be opposed if Motorola were to create such a product, but would you buy it?
