Mortal Kombat X was recently released but it looks like NetherRealm could already be planning additional content for the game. This was hinted at in a recent tweet by Ed Boon in which he hinted that Mortal Kombat X could be getting a Story Pack DLC in the near future. This was in response to a question from a fan who asked if the NPCs in the story mode could eventually be made playable.
For those who have yet to play the story mode or have yet to get their hands on the game, the NPCs in the story include characters such as Fujin, Kabal, Stryker, Sindel, Rain, Smoke, Bo’ Rai Cho, Frost, Sareena, Li Mei, and Baraka, some of whom gamers who are familiar with the Mortal Kombat franchise should already know.
In fact there have been some modders who have modded the PC version of Mortal Kombat X in an effort to get some of these characters into the playable rotation. So far they have succeeded with Sindel, Rain, and Baraka. No word on when NetherRealm will be releasing the Story Pack DLC, but we’ll be keeping our eyes peeled for more info.
In the meantime the game has managed to go on and become one of the franchise’s fastest selling titles to date, with millions of players coming online in a relatively short amount of time which did cause some issues.
