The company has recently announced a brand new 5.5-inch QHD LCD panels. The display panel will feature a resolution of 2560×1440 and carries a pixel density of 538ppi. What makes this particular panel different is its used of Advanced In-Cell Touch which basically means that it will react to touches even if there is water on its surface.
The new panel is also said to display even more accurate colors than last year’s model with a 120% color gamut, 50% increase in contrast, and 30% increase in brightness. Now while LG has yet to specifically refer to the LG G4, the GFX Benchmark listing already confirms its 5.5-inch display so it would only be logical to assume that this new 5.5-inch display could make its way onto the handset.
According to LG’s press release, “The company has started the mass production of the 5.5-inch QHD LCD panel with IPS technology for mobile devices that will be used in LG Electronics’ forthcoming flagship smartphone to be unveiled at the end of the month.” The LG G4 is expected to be officially announced on the 28th of April so be sure to check back with us then for the details.
