The LG G4, Unofficially Unveiled

lg-g4__leak_kr_28A tweet from @EvanBlass and a link to g4.xfb.kr (now down) lead to a website that looked pretty genuine, thus hinting that LG may have pushed live a site that was not supposed to be. The LG G4 won’t be announced for another couple of weeks, but these photos look very credible and basically show what the G4 looks like.

This would confirm most of the earlier leaks about the industrial design of the new LG Flagship phone for 2015. For the most part, the LG G4 seems to build on the design language and the overall form-factor that made the LG G3 so successful.

The Carbon-like front is new and the leather back will certainly (agreeably, I think) surprise many potential users. The leather was prominently featured in the previous LG G4 teasers, so it all makes sense now. But fret not, the photo gallery also shows many of other colors and back-cover material options.

LG may not be ready to go “all glass and metal”, but it has certainly a few tricks up its sleeve to make the phone feel “premium”. The skeptics among us seemed to have it wrong: LG is going with the leather back, a trick that the Galaxy Note had previously executed with success.

The site also had some specs, which again, mostly confirm what the LG G4 is supposed to be about:

Will you be one of the 4000 people that LG will select to try the LG G4 before the launch? Good luck.
