So there has been some drama with Konami and Hideo Kojima and the latter’s company, Kojima Productions. Word has it that Kojima plans on leaving after Metal Gear Solid 5 and this was seemingly evidenced in his name being removed from some titles for Metal Gear Solid. However the situation appears to be rather confusing as according to a report from Videogamer, Kojima’s name has made a return as you can see in the screenshot above.
His name and his company’s logo has returned in some, not all, Metal Gear Solid titles. The description of some of the games also makes heavy references to Kojima and his involvement which has us wondering what’s going on between the relationship of Konami and Kojima. However a statement issued by Kojima back then reiterated his commitment to the Metal Gear Solid 5 game, stating that he was 100% involved in it.
However if we had to read in between the lines, it seems that Kojima was also hinting that Metal Gear Solid 5 could be his last game with the company. We’re not sure what to make of his name and logo being inserted back into the titles, but perhaps Kojima and Konami managed to work something out. That being said, it was just yesterday that it was noted that Kojima Productions’ logo had been pulled from the upcoming Silent Hills game. Hopefully all of this will be cleared up pretty soon.
