It does not look as though Apple is working on making their iPod range expand any further, as current trends do seem to offer fewer and fewer new iPod models, for the simple reason that a portable media player is out of fashion now, taking into consideration how a device like that of a smartphone will be able to get the job done – and then some. Well, one ought to take note that the iPod range did not see any significant changes to the lineup since three years ago, and this happens to be a long overdue situation that needs rectification. Word on the street has it that Apple will offer an update to a minimum of one model, although one might want to take this bit of news with a pinch of salt.
Apparently, a source that claims to be familiar with Apple’s future product plans point to the iPod range, especially the iPod touch, to feature an update as the year progresses. What are some of the possible configurations? Well, initial suggestions point to a similar 4” display that is found on the existing iPod touch, although no promises were made. Perhaps this is a time where Apple could work to integrate Beats products into its product range, taking into consideration how Apple did acquire Beats for a whopping $3 billion in the previous year.
Do you think that Apple will make good use of parts from previous generation iPhones that will still be able to pack a punch in the form of an iPod touch? Perhaps so, but only time will be able to tell. What do you think?
