However if you still have Aperture installed on your computer, you should be able to keep using it, although like Apple has said in the past, Aperture will no longer be sold upon Photos for OS X’s release. For those unfamiliar with Photos for OS X, this app is meant to be the happy middle between iPhoto and Aperture.
It will allow users to browse their photo gallery and at the same time offer up some editing tools and features for those who wish to make some changes. However these editing tools won’t be as comprehensive as that of Aperture and is targeted more towards the casual user who might only need to make some minor edits.
If advanced photo editing is what you’re after then there’s a chance that Photos for OS X might not be able to cut it. Like we said you can still go ahead and use Aperture but note that it will not be updated with new features anymore so you can opt to hop to a different editing software like Adobe’s Lightroom, or you can keep at it until you start to find the app a bit lacking.
