The folks at HTC Source decided to find out in a series of comparison photos where they compared photos taken by the HTC One M8 (photos on the right) to that of the HTC One M9. Keep in mind that these photos were taken prior to HTC pushing out the update to the One M9 that supposedly improves its camera’s performance, so your results might not necessarily be the same.
However for now if you’d like to see if the differences are enough to convince you, then keep reading. For the most part it looks like the HTC One M9 has definitely outdone the HTC One M8. The colors are richer and more saturated and does not have that weird grey overlay effect that the One M8 is giving out.
That being said, the One M8 does outperform the One M9 slightly in low-light settings so if low-light shooting is your priority, then this is something to take into consideration. However we should point out that in other blind camera comparisons, the One M9 has ranked pretty low compared to the competition like the new Samsung Galaxy S6 or even last year’s Galaxy Note 4, but the camera is just one part of the phone so maybe there are other features of it that will make up for it.
