The wait is finally over for Sling TV subscribers. It was recently confirmed that Sling TV will be the first online TV streaming service to offer HBO and we were told that the channel would go live on the service before Game of Thrones season 5 premiers on April 12th. There’s good news for people who subscribe to Dish’s service because we have just been told that HBO is going live on Sling TV today.
HBO will not be part of Sling TV’s basic $20 per month package which provides access to channels like CNN, TBS, TNT, AMC, ABC Family, HGTV, Travel Channel and more.
Instead subscribers will have to pay an extra $15 per month just to be able to stream HBO whenever they want. They will also get access to all of the video-on-demand content that the cable giant has to offer.
This is essentially the same access that HBO Now subscribers get for the same price. HBO Now is the company’s own over-the-top streaming service that’s exclusive to Apple’s devices for three months. It went live a couple of days back.
Sling TV subscribers will get access to three streams of HBO as well as the single stream that’s dedicated to its core and add-on packages. The service will start adding VOD titles from HBO today.
