Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto V for the PC was released not too long ago and one of the places that gamers were able to download the game and play it is on Valve’s Steam platform. As it turns out despite waiting years for the PC version to be released, the game is still extremely popular because a report from GamesIndustry International, the game managed to set a new record for concurrent users.
According to the numbers, GTA 5 managed to see over 300,000 concurrent gamers just yesterday, surpassing that of the second place holder which is Football Manager 2015 which peaked at 56,000 gamers. Now this is nowhere near the numbers that Valve’s own games are seeing, such as DotA 2 which crossed the 1 million mark at its peak, and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive which nabbed 529,000 users yesterday as well.
However GTA 5’s 300,000 users does make it the highest for non-Valve games which is pretty impressive. GTA 5 for the PC has been a long time coming and it seems that gamers are pretty happy with its arrival. Modders have also wasted no time in creating mods for the game, such as giving players unlimited ammo. Rockstar even introduced a video editing feature that allowed gamers to create their own movies within the game itself.
