Google Calendar 5.2 update

Google Calendar is the default calendar for most of the Android users who don’t really go for the third party calendar apps. The app helps in keeping up with the events and schedules on a stock Android device. Being the most used Calendar app, the 5.0 update was not happily welcomed by many users as it removed the app’s ability to project the entire month’s event view at once on the phone’s screen.

Thankfully, Google has rolled out the 5.2 update for that app, which changes the former’s version view options of single day, three days, or a week to a full month. The “to do” is still on-board like the previous version, but, it is now placed at the navigation drawer instead of action bar.

In addition, users can now see the color of events even when jumping to a particular date or event. The color of events are displayed as little dots in the pull-down calendar, as depicted in the image above, which was posted on Google+.

If you don’t want to wait for Google to push the update to the Play Store, then download the APK file. The Android application package (APK) is a file format, which is signed by Google and upgrades the existing app. Here’s how to install an APK file.

There is a cryptographic signature assures that the file is safe to install and virus free. Simply download and install the update like any other APK. Also, let us know if you are happy with the new update and what else you expect in the Calendar app by Google?
