The report claims that Apple has sold an estimated 35,000 units in the second week of April. However this is following the launch of the Galaxy S6 and actually represents a drop of 1,700 units from the week before. This is versus the 79,586 units of the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge that was sold in the first six days of their launch, although they were only comparing offline sales, as in sales made through shops and retailers, not online.
This seems to suggest that the launch of the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge had somehow caused sales of the iPhone 6 to decline. However Jang Joong-hyeok, the vice chairman of ATLAS Research, admits that the decline of the sale of the iPhone 6 could be a natural phenomenon as the handset was launched about half a year ago, meaning that over time less customers are interested in getting their hands on the device.
In any case what do you guys make of this? Do you think it’s possible that the Galaxy S6’s launch impacted the iPhone 6’s sales? Or are both devices different enough where they might not necessarily have impacted each other too much?
